THE PILLAGING OF OUR RESOURCES CONTINUES. LE PILLAGE DE NOS RESSOURCES SE POURSUIT

English version

According to the press, the signing of a memorandum of understanding between Gabon Oil Company (GOC) and the Canadian oil company Touchstone Oil & Gas, for the exploitation of the Remboué site, is slow to materialize.

The GOC would like to get rid of this oil field on which it would have already engulfed 40 million dollars of development cost (20 billion CFA francs); without getting anything out of it. The GOC would like as soon as possible to get a return on its expenses. The company Touchstone would have agreed to pay $ 23 million to take over the Remboué site (11.5 billion CFA francs); but the General Directorate of Hydrocarbons of Gabon (DGH), finds that this price is too low.

This standoff could cause the deal to fail, as this memorandum of understanding signed between the two parties expires on November 30, 2017.
