THE PERTINENT QUESTIONS OF MR. PAUL MARIE GONDJOUT! LES PERTINENTES INTERROGATIONS DE M. PAUL MARIE GONDJOUT

It is through a press conference a few days ago in Libreville, that citizen Paul Marie Gondjout, as allowed by his citizens' rights, wanted to communicate his opinions and questions about the insistent desire by the regime to have Gabon led by individuals of foreign origins. We will not publish here the integrality of that press conference because that has been done elsewhere, but we will address the salient questions that seem most central to the debate.

In his speech, Mr. Gondjout said: "We never got our independence so that others in our place would come manage our country for us. Imagine that after you have started a family with his wife and children, and built your home, someone from somewhere else comes to manage your house, your wife and children. What a supreme humiliation! "

Comment by “Annoying Gabon": no Gabonese person of good faith would deny that the regime is trying to add new links to the foreign chain that governs the country at its highest level. By the analogy he uses, here we interpret what Mr. Gondjout was saying as being that people should take care of their country as a father takes care of his family. One cannot claim to be independent in their home, if they are of servile nature, quick to obey, to please, to bend, to abandon their free will, to accept the scabrous and ridiculous decisions of a regime trying to impose external control to the country. Everyone knows that in any organized society that calls itself democratic, everybody has their place in a hierarchy accepted and appreciated by all. In this sense, all societies are pyramidal. In this pyramidal model, the purpose of each citizen is to climb the egalitarian pyramid, not to be arbitrarily excluded from it in favor of people from abroad who are always installed at the top of the pyramid, without having to prove anything to native citizens. That is unacceptable!

In his speech, Mr. Gondjout said: “I do want here to illustrate my point with two cases. First Mr. Kerangall Christian. He is a powerful French businessman established for thirty years in Gabon, he is the boss of the largest Franco-Gabonese trade company, Compagnie du Komo. Mr. Kerangall concurrently with his position as CEO of the Compagnie du Komo also has had the official position of being the French Foreign Trade Advisor for a little more than fifteen years. How can it be that with such a background, Mr. Kerangall can stand for election in Gabon? The other case is that of Mr. SEYDOU KANE, he too is a prosperous Malian businessman who made his fortune exclusively in Gabon. He is now exposed and put under the spotlight. Seydou Kane recently led the campaign in Gabon of a candidate in Mali presidential election, and he voted for that election here in July and August. Now only 3 months later, he finds himself being the PDG candidate in the municipal election of the second district of Libreville. Finally what nationality does he have in Gabon?

Comment by “Annoying Gabon": in its 529 edition, published on November 22, 2007, La Lettre du Continent contains an article entitled: "These influential French ", describing a handful of French citizens radiating in the first family and business circle of the Bongos. Karengall, Baloche and other French citizen are described therein as being incorporated into the Bongo family and these French citizens are doing very well businesswise. The first point to make is to say that just because one is integrated into the Bongo family, does not mean they are integrated within Gabon. The blurring of the line wanting to make Gabon and Bongo synonymous must stop. The truth is that Karengall is French, serves French interests, his family and his investments are in France. On July 14, Karengall and his fellow French people gather around their ambassador to celebrate their national holiday as it should be, no one could blame him for that. The Seydou Kane case is equally obvious. This man has not only led the campaign of a candidate for the Malian presidency, but even worse, he voted is the Malian election, a way for him to confirm to us whether he was Malian. He did not do this 20 years ago, but this year 2013. There he is trying to become mayor in a borough in Libreville. The regime must learn to respect native born Gabonese citizens because nationality is the tie that binds a person to a particular country and the proven dual allegiance of the people in question here is more than disturbing. The symbolism is that strong!

The worst irony in this instance is that Ali Bongo in his desire to lock the country to his own benefit by having a constitution tailored for him; amended this constitution by stating that was now ineligible for elections all Gabonese with dual citizenship or having held responsibilities in another country. It is indeed ironic that having worked in France would make a native born citizen of Gabon ineligible in his country, but Kerangall, a French citizen working in Gabon, is eligible in Gabon.

Congratulations Mr. Gondjout for having enriched the debate!

C’est à la faveur d’une conférence de presse il y a quelques jours à Libreville, que le citoyen Paul Marie Gondjout, comme le lui autorisent ses droits de citoyens, a voulu communiquer ses avis et interrogations au sujet de la volonté insistante du régime de faire diriger le Gabon par des individus d’origines étrangères. Nous ne publierons pas ici l’intégralité de cette conférence de presse car cela a été fait ailleurs, mais nous relèverons les interrogations saillantes qui nous paraissent les plus centrales au débat.

Dans son propos, M. Gondjout a déclaré : « Nous n’avons jamais obtenu notre indépendance pour que d’autres à notre place viennent gérer notre pays. Imaginez qu’après que vous auriez fondé une famille avec femme et enfants, et construit votre maison, que quelqu’un venu d’ailleurs, vienne devant vous gérer votre maison, votre femme et vos enfants. Quelle suprême humiliation ! »

Commentaire de « Le Gabon Enervant » : aucun Gabonais de bonne foi ne douterait que le régime soit en train d’ajouter de nouveaux maillons à la chaine étrangère qui gouverne l’Etat gabonais à son plus haut niveau. Par l’analogie qu’il utilise, nous voulons ici interpréter le propos de M. Gondjout comme disant qu’un peuple devrait veiller sur son pays comme un père sur sa famille. Qu’on ne peut puisse pas prétendre être indépendant chez soi, si on est de nature servile, prompte à obéir, à plaire, à se plier, à abandonner son libre-arbitre, à accepter les décisions scabreuses, fantaisistes d’un régime voulant imposer un contrôle extérieur. Tout le monde sait que dans toute société organisée et qui se veut démocratique, chacun est à sa place dans une hiérarchie consentie et appréciée. En ce sens, toutes les sociétés sont pyramidales. Dans ce modèle pyramidal, le but de chacun est de grimper la pyramide qui doit être égalitaire, pas d'en être exclu arbitrairement au profit de gens venus de l’étranger qui eux sont installés systématiquement au sommet de la pyramide, sans avoir à prouver quoi que ce soit aux citoyens natifs. Voilà qui est inadmissible !

Dans son propos, M. Gondjout a déclaré: « Je ne voudrais prendre ici pour illustrer mon propos que deux de ces cas. D’abord Monsieur KERANGALL Christian. C’est un puissant homme d’affaires français établi depuis une trentaine d’années au Gabon, il est le patron de la plus grande compagnie commerciale franco-gabonaise, la Compagnie du Komo. Monsieur KERANGALL concomitamment à son poste de PDG de la Compagnie du Komo, exerce aussi la fonction officielle de conseiller du commerce extérieur français depuis un peu plus d’une quinzaine d’années. Comment peut-il être avec cela que Mr KERANGALL puisse briguer un mandat électif au Gabon? L’autre cas est celui de monsieur SEYDOU KANE, lui aussi prospère homme d’affaires malien qui a exclusivement fait sa fortune au Gabon. Le voilà aujourd’hui exposé et mis sous les feux de la rampe. Monsieur Seydou KANE a dernièrement dirigé la campagne au Gabon d’un candidat à l’élection présidentielle malienne, et il a voté ici pour cette élection en juillet et en aout. Voilà que 3 mois plus tard, il se retrouve à être candidat du PDG à l’élection municipale du 2ème arrondissement de Libreville. Finalement de quelle nationalité se prévaut-il au Gabon ?

Commentaire de « Le Gabon Enervant »: dans son numéro 529 publié le 22 Novembre 2007, La Lettre du Continent contient un article dont le titre est : « Ces Français d’influence », décrivant une poignée de Français rayonnant dans le premier cercle familial et affairiste de la famille Bongo. Karengall, Baloche et d’autres Français y sont décrits comme étant des Français intégrés dans la famille Bongo et y faisant des affaires en or. La première remarque qui s’impose est d’affirmer que juste parce qu’on est intégré dans la famille Bongo, ne veut pas dire qu’on soit intégré dans le Gabon. La confusion des genres voulant que Gabon et Bongo soient des synonymes, doit s’arrêter. La vérité est que Karengall est Français, sert des intérêts Français, a sa famille et ses placements en France. Le 14 Juillet, Karengall et ses compatriotes Français se retrouvent autour de leur ambassadeur pour célébrer leur fête nationale comme il se doit, personne ne le lui reprochera. Le cas Seydou Kane est tout aussi flagrant. Ce monsieur a non seulement dirigé la campagne d’un des candidats à la présidentielle malienne, mais pire encore, il a voté à l’élection malienne, une façon de nous confirmer qu’il soit malien. Il ne l’a pas fait il y a 20 ans, mais en cette année 2013. Le voilà voulant devenir maire dans un arrondissement à Libreville. Il faut quand même que le régime apprenne à respecter les Gabonais natifs du Gabon car la nationalité est ce lien qui unit une personne à un pays particulier et la double allégeance prouvée des gens dont il est question ici est plus que troublante. La symbolique est plus que forte !

La pire des ironies dans cette affaire est qu’Ali Bongo, dans sa volonté de verrouiller le pays à son seul profit en se taillant une constitution sur mesure, a modifié cette constitution en y stipulant désormais d’être interdit d’éligibilité tout Gabonais disposant de la double nationalité et ayant occupé des responsabilités dans un autre pays. Il est en effet assez ironique qu’un Gabonais ayant travaillé en France soit inéligible, mais que Kerangall, un Français travaillant au Gabon, lui le soit.
