FLAVIEN ENONGOUÉ STRAYS ON FRENCH RADIO. FLAVIEN ENONGOUÉ SE FOURVOIE SUR RADIO FRANCE

Mediapart 2012 - Hollande et la politique... by Mediapart

English version

On Monday, following Sarkozy's electoral humiliation, because it was exactly that, given that Sarkozy presented himself as a kind of supreme leader holding all the powers in France, Radio France Internationale, through the microphone of Christophe Boisbouvier, wanted to take the temperature of that earthquake in françafrican capitals. Two citizens of countries located in the heart of Françafrique were invited to speak on this subject: a Cameroonian columnist, Henriette Ekwe and a professor from Gabon, Flavien Enongoué.

If the Cameroonian seemed honest in her answers, especially concerning the reaction that the fall of Sarkozy created in Cameroon; the Gabonese, we felt, was completely stuck in bad faith and misrepresentation of reality. We shall explain:

1. First, by speaking on RFI, Flavien Enongoué as well as Christophe Boisbouvier of RFI were obligated to reveal to listeners that the talker from Gabon was not an innocent professor of political philosophy at the University of Libreville (still on strike by the way), but was mostly and mainly a Special Advisor, Head of Missions for Ali Bongo. When you know the relationship of complicity between the Bongo family and the Sarkozy galaxy, the omission of Enongoué’s functions just as he is commenting on the coming to power of the man who dethroned the intimate friend of his boss, is more than curious and frankly full of suspicion, in our opinion. This was not due to chance.

2. For this blog, they wanted to hide from listeners Enongoué real occupation, because he was mandated by his boss, to come and present the image of a Gabonese population remaining indifferent to the change in France. But this picture is wrong, as many testimonies sent to us assert that as everywhere in Françafrique, the Gabonese people greeted the fall of Sarkozy with relief and satisfaction. Very reliable sources have confirmed that many shouts were raised in neighborhoods of Libreville following the announcement of the victory of Hollande. So why would Flavien Enongoué come on RFI to argue otherwise?

3. For Ali Bongo regime, we must believe that the victory of Francois Hollande would be a non-event in Gabon. For the monarchists of Gabon, it is about minimizing to the maximum extent the effect that this victory could have on their regime. It is amusing to hear Flavien Enongoué talk about the legitimacy of African leaders which would be now be defined only in Africa and which would emanate more from African people. But he is joking, this Enongoué! Is it not Ali Bongo was anointed by Sarkozy? Is it not Ali Bongo that Sarkozy visited right after his 2009 presidential holdup? Is it not Ali Bongo who personally invited Robert Bourgi to take place, as an intimate personality, aboard the presidential helicopter during that Sarkozy's visit to Gabon? What role does Robert Bourgi play in France, except that of collecting briefcases full of bank notes from African dictators and place them at the feet of French leaders?

4. Enongoué’s arguments reflected a desire to tell Hollande and public opinion that the Gabonese people are satisfied with their situation and they would not expect anything from the new occupant of the Elysée palace. They want public opinion to believe that in Gabon, there are no active militants against Françafrique nor movements, organizations, associations or political parties watching and waiting anxiously to see the breakage of the chains that bind them to Françafrique. They want public opinion to believe that the Gabonese people are still ready to tolerate injustice, imposture and underdevelopment, in the name of the whims of leaders chosen by France who continue to power through the holy protection of the Elysée palace.

5. Finally Enongoué, like his colleague Rossatanga, both under the same sponsorship, wants public opinion to believe that in Africa, legitimacy is defined differently than around the world. For him, "African" legitimacy is the one that says "we are in power and we stay there", whatever the feelings of the people who would wish to do away with the arbitrariness and imposture. But when you're a philosopher, it is not very difficult to find material to justify the deception.

Mister the Special Adviser to Ali Bongo, you have fooled no one! Do not forget that when the question was posed to him, François Hollande said without batting an eyelid that he did not consider the presence of Ali Bongo at the head of Gabon to have been the result of a democratic process. The video is there for all to see. So in terms of legitimacy, it is useless that Rossatanga and you try to obfuscate, because everyone knows that Ali Bongo is all there is as far as being illegitimate goes; whether you are in Gabon, France or Chile.
